Accounting course equips armed forces personnel for post-retirement careers
Thirty-nine armed forces personnel have completed a Certificate of Accounting Technician course in Kozhikode to prepare for post-retirement careers. The initiative, supported by the Ministry of Defence and the Institute of Cost Accountants of India, aims to expand employment opportunities beyond traditional security roles.

Thirty-nine serving personnel of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force, all due to retire by March 2027, have completed a Certificate of Accounting Technician (CAT) course in Kozhikode, aimed at equipping them for employment in the accounting sector after their retirement.
The four-month course was conducted under the Directorate General of Resettlement (DGR), Ministry of Defence, and the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) as part of an initiative to expand post-service employment opportunities for armed forces personnel beyond conventional jobs in security and home guards.
The course was conducted by the Kozhikode-Malappuram Chapter of ICMAI. The 39 successful candidates included 27 personnel from the Army, nine from the Navy, and three from the Air Force.
