The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday (July 16, 2026) trapped an executive engineer and an assistant engineer of the Irrigation Department in Adilabad district for demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹60,000 to issue a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for a poultry farm.
According to the ACB, executive engineer Rathod Vittal was arrested by the Adilabad range unit after he demanded and accepted the bribe through assistant engineer Rupavathi Ramesh in return for extending an official favour.
The ACB said the complainant and his brothers had sought an NOC from the Irrigation Department to construct a poultry farm on their agricultural land at Sonal village in Adilabad district. The certificate was required as a small canal passes adjacent to the land.
