ACB traps Endowments official while ‘accepting’ bribe
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested an Assistant Commissioner in the Anantapuramu District Endowments Office for allegedly accepting a bribe. The official reportedly demanded the money to process a cheque sanctioned for temple construction.

Officials of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday caught G. Mallikarjuna Prasad, Assistant Commissioner in the District Endowments Office, Anantapuramu, allegedly while accepting a bribe of ₹25,000 from a complainant.
According to an ACB release, the official had allegedly demanded the bribe for issuing a cheque for ₹2 lakh sanctioned by the TTD’s Srivani Trust towards the construction of the Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple at Cherlopalli village in Pulluru mandal.
Mr. Prasad joined government service as an attender on compassionate grounds in 1984 and was subsequently promoted as Junior Assistant, Senior Assistant, Superintendent and Assistant Commissioner in 2009.
