About 150 structures damaged, destroyed by Bald Range wildfire, as most of Summerland returns
The Bald Range wildfire in British Columbia has damaged or destroyed approximately 150 structures, including homes and barns. Local authorities are managing a phased re-entry for residents as damage assessments continue in the Summerland and Electoral Area F regions.

The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen says about 150 structures have been damaged or destroyed by the Bald Range wildfire.
This is a preliminary number and may change as damage assessments continue.
Approximately 110 damaged or destroyed structures are in Electoral Area “F”, including the Faulder and Meadow Valley areas, and 40 are in the District of Summerland.
“Structures (are) any structure of note on a property, including things like barns, which are very important for farmers, as well as homes,” Kelly Greene, the B.C. Minister of Emergency Management and Climate Readiness, said.
“I will leave it to the local government to communicate structure losses with residents before we release specific details about the losses that have been experienced by people on the ground.”
During the Summerland Stage 1 re-entry (Friday, Aug. 14), 400 properties were moved from evacuation order to evacuation alert.
