Abhobilam temple photographer wins national award

Prasad Uppala, the official photographer for the Ahobilam temple, has been awarded the 'Best Image of the Year' at the National Photography Competition 2026. The competition, themed around India's 80 years of democracy, was organized by the Photography Academy of India.

Prasad Uppala, the official (Asthana) photographer of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Devasthanam at Ahobilam, won the ‘Best Image of the Year’ award and a gold medal in the National Photography Competition 2026 themed “My India: 80 Years of Democracy and Freedom”.
The competition was held by the Photography Academy of India (PAI), in collaboration with the Andhra Pradesh State Creativity and Culture Commission and the Government of Andhra Pradesh. The results of the competition were announced on Thursday.
