Aaron Sorkin admits Carrie Fisher convinced him to go to rehab

Aaron Sorkin has opened up about his previous addiction to drugs, revealing that Star Wars actor Carrie Fisher convinced him to go to rehab despite never having met him.

Sorkin is an American filmmaker and screenwriter best known for his work on The Social Network and, more recently, the forthcoming second installment in the Facebook movie franchise, The Social Reckoning .

Despite his acclaim across the industry, Sorkin admitted in a new interview with The New York Times that things haven’t always been easy, and addiction has been a part of his creative journey.

Though Sorkin is sober now, he reflected, “There was a time when I would not begin writing until after the sun went down and my dealer came over. And I was using coke.”
