aérosculpture's kinetic 'steel grass' turns the amsterdam breeze into a shifting metallic field

Along the open stretch of Amsterdam's Flevopark, a cluster of slender metallic forms by A rosculpture collective rises from the ground in thin, gleaming strands, each catching light as it shifts with the air. The kinetic installation , dubbed Steel Grass, arrived here for the 2026 edition of Synergy Art Festival, where its motion reads as both subtle and constant, a surface that never settles into a fixed shape.

The work relies on helium to hold its vertical tension, allowing each element to hover between weight and lift. What looks rigid from a distance reveals itself as responsive at close range. The slightest current passes through the field and sends a ripple across its surface. Movement travels in slow waves, then breaks into smaller tremors, as if the air itself had become visible.
