An “Englishman” cable dated London, August 8, says:-
“The Daily Mail” says the latest scientific instruments exhibited at the meetings of the British Association bring nearer the discovery of the source of life, and a new source of power with a trigger to set it off and a boiler to control it. Some scientists foresee the day when an engine will be driven from London to Edinburgh on a handful of cobblestones.
This year’s meetings of the Association show that women are participating more in scientific inquiry, but they are better analysts than creators.
