Mr. Sami Venkatachalam Chetti, the President of the Madras Corporation, performed last evening the pleasant function of opening the Mount Road Branch of the Madras News Agency. Mr. S. Srinivasa Iyengar presided on the occasion. There was a fair gathering. Mr. R. Balasundaram Mudaliar, the Editor of ‘Doodle’ uncle of Mr. T. Thanikachalam, the Proprietor of the Agency, received guests on arrival. The branch is situated in one of the rooms of the groundfloor of the Mahajana Sabha.
