‘91% of students who cleared Class XII in Salem district joined higher studies’

The Salem District Collector K. Elambahavath, on Thursday (September 17, 2026), said that 91% of students who passed Class XII examination in 2025-26 have enrolled in higher education.

On Thursday, the Uyarvukku Padi programme was held at a government-aided school in Salem for the Class XII students who passed out in the 2025-26 academic year. The Collector presided over the programme.

Speaking at the function, the Collector said that the State government’s Uyarvukku Padi , a higher education guidance programme, aims to ensure that all students who have cleared Class XII should pursue higher education. The control room at the Collectorate is performing well to help make the dream of pursuing higher education a reality for all government, government-aided, and private school students.
