91 electric garbage vehicles sanctioned for Kurnool; first 30 flagged off

Industries and Commerce Minister T.G. Bharath Gupta has said that the State government is determined to make Kurnool a clean, green and modern city.
Mr. Bharath, along with Swachh Andhra Corporation Chairman Kommareddy Pattabhi Ram and others, launched electric vehicles for collecting garbage from households in the city on Wednesday (September 2, 2026). Speaking after flagging off the vehicles at Konda Reddy Buruju, Mr. Bharath said 91 electric garbage collection vehicles had been sanctioned for the Kurnool Municipal Corporation (KMC).
The first batch of 30 was launched on Wednesday. He said the vehicles previously used for garbage collection had faced operational problems for want of proper maintenance.
