9-year-old Melbourne programmer becomes world’s youngest computer programmer

At an age when many children are just beginning to explore basic mathematics, Noah Williams was learning C++, one of the world’s most widely used programming languages. The Melbourne child began writing programmes to help with mathematical calculations at six, joined Mensa at seven after achieving an IQ score in the 99.9th percentile and later set a Guinness World Records title. On 8 August 2025, when he was eight years and 307 days old, an independent firm published one of Noah’s programmes, making him the youngest computer programmer recognised by Guinness World Records.
