Three years: that’s how long Jimmy Moir carried a promise he made to his wife, who was no longer there to see it through. Moir, 82, and his wife Gladys were married for 62 years before she died of cancer in 2023. During that half-century of companionship, the couple from Dundee shared a lifetime of dreams. But one in particular was impossible to dismiss: their trip to Los Angeles to visit Capitol Records, the place where their idol Frank Sinatra had once stood and sung into a microphone.So before she bid adieu, Gladys made him swear he’d make the journey alone if he had to. “I always wanted to go to Capitol Records – obviously with Gladys, but unfortunately she died in 2023.
