The Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) has launched an ambitious ‘80 Garbage-Free Spots’ campaign to transform 80 garbage vulnerable points (GVPs) across the city as part of the 80th Independence Day celebrations.
The campaign began on Tuesday (July 28) with a cleanliness drive at a GVP near Freedom Park on Chamaraja Double Road, where accumulated solid waste was cleared and the location converted into a garbage-free spot.
MCC Commissioner M.K. Savita inaugurated the drive by joining civic workers in clearing the waste, with the aim of keeping the city clean and trash-free.
The programme saw the participation of MCC officials and volunteers from organisations, including Mysore Grahakara Parishat, Clean Mysuru Group, Mysuru Travels Association, Dattagalli Clean Foundation, and GSS.
