ITV has confirmed that the final installment of the long-running documentary series '70 Up' will premiere on September 15. Directed by Asif Kapadia, the film follows the lives of its subjects as they reach old age, marking the first entry since the death of original director Michael Apted.

70 Up: The Final Chapter will land on Tuesday 15 September at 9pm on ITV1, and will become available to watch on ITVX before its scheduled slot.
The experimental documentary series, which has regularly been named the most influential show ever made, began in 1974 and has charted the lives of a group of people roughly every seven years from childhood through to adulthood.
Now, the new final chapter will follow the subjects as they approach old age.
