Chennur in Mancherial district is set for a major infrastructure upgrade ahead of the 2027 Godavari Pushkaralu, with development works worth ₹70 crore being taken up, Energy and Mines Minister G. Vivek Venkataswamy said on Tuesday.
He added that around one lakh devotees are expected to visit the town during the event, the Minister noted.
The Minister was speaking after laying the foundation stone for a Pushkar Ghat in Chennur on Tuesday.
He said ghats, roads and basic amenities were being developed to ensure that devotees face no inconvenience. Modern bathing ghats would be constructed at a cost of ₹8 crore.
The State government had allocated ₹1,000 crore for the Godavari Pushkaralu celebrations across the State in 2027.
