Approximately 7,000 police personnel are being deployed to manage security and traffic for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the new Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport. Authorities are preparing for an expected crowd of three lakh people at the inauguration.
Why it matters
Large-scale infrastructure inaugurations involving high-level political figures require significant administrative and security coordination, impacting regional traffic and public safety.
Some 7,000 police personnel will be deployed in and around the Bhogapuram airport for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s inauguration of the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport on August 1 (Saturday).
The police will have to coordinate both security and traffic, with nearly three lakh people likely to attend the inaugural function. Traffic management is going to be the biggest task, as people from all the north Andhra districts will arrive at the airport for the function.
Additional Director General N. Madhusudana Reddy, Inspectors General K. Srikanth and A. Ravi Krishna, Visakhapatnam Range IG Gopinath Jatti and other officials have held several review meetings at the Command Control Room set up on the airport premises.
