600 farmers provided with Soil Health Cards in Kanniyakumari in 2025-2026: Vijay Vasanth
Kanniyakumari Lok Sabha Member Vijay Vasanth said the Soil Health Card scheme was being implemented well in the district and 600 farmers had been provided with Soil Health Cards in the financial year 2025-2026, while addressing District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting held here on Friday.
He said that the soil health cards helped farmers to analyse the nutrient status of the soil and provided recommendations on the use of fertilizers based on the nature and condition of the soil and the crops cultivated.
He said the Kanniyakumari district had a total of 1,11,183 Antyodaya Anna Yojana family cards and 2,71,453 people are benefitting from Priority Household Ration Cards. He added that 84.4% of work on the four-lane national highways had been completed between Kaliyakkavilai and Kanniyakumari and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has been instructed to complete the work by December 31, 2026.
