A 6-year-old girl in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula disappeared for four and a half hours after following her family dogs into the woods, sparking a large overnight search that involved police, fire crews, K-9 units and drones. The breakthrough came when a relative’s trail camera, set up about half a mile from the home, captured an image of the child moving through the trees. Rescuers then located her safe and calm, sitting beside one of the dogs near Ski Hill Road in Forsyth Township, according to reports from EUP News and The Daily Press.A quiet evening turns urgentThe incident unfolded on a Wednesday evening near County Road 456 in Little Lake, Marquette County. Payton Kagarise had just finished dinner and helped bake a cake when she asked to let the family dogs out.
