6,368 capsules of habit-forming drug seized from medical shop in Tellapur

Telangana drug control officials seized over 6,000 capsules of the opioid Tramadol from a medical shop in Tellapur. The store was found to be selling the habit-forming drug without valid prescriptions or purchase bills.

Officials of the drugs wing of the Telangana Standards Authority for Food and Essential Drugs (TG SAFE) seized 6,368 capsules containing Tramadol, a habit-forming opioid drug, from a medical shop in Tellapur. They were allegedly found to be stocked without purchase bills and sold without prescriptions or sale bills.
TG SAFE officials raided Sri Ganesh Medical and General Stores in Tellapur village, Ramchandrapuram mandal of Sangareddy district, following information about the alleged illegal sale.
During the inspection, officials found Pyeevon Spas Plus capsules containing Tramadol being sold indiscriminately, TG SAFE said. A total of 6,368 capsules from a particular batch, valued at ₹58,904, were seized.
