₹50,000 crore sanctioned for infrastructure development in Andhra Pradesh: Narayana
Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister Ponguru Narayana said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had sanctioned ₹50,000 crore for infrastructure development in Andhra Pradesh. He claimed that no government since Independence had allocated such a huge amount for infrastructure.
The Minister toured nine divisions in Nellore on Wednesday, laying foundation stones for and inaugurating development works worth ₹4 crore.
Addressing the media, he said development works were progressing rapidly across 123 municipalities in the State. All projects stalled by the previous government due to political vendetta had been resumed, he added.
Referring to Nellore, Mr. Narayana said tap connections would be provided to every household and water from the Sangam Barrage would be supplied by the end of this year. Underground drainage works estimated at ₹800 crore were progressing swiftly and would be completed by June 12, 2027, transforming Nellore into a mosquito-free city, he said.
