Video captured the plane as it crashed just before 2 p.m. after Miami-Dade Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz said it overran runway 30 at the airport.
Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava said five people were taken to the hospital.
Three were critically injured and two others hospitalized with less severe injuries, officials said.
A source with knowledge of the incident told NBC6 that two pilots were taken to Jackson South, and three others were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Authorities have not identified the deceased or the people who were taken to the hospital.
