$45M SF mansion linked to Ellison sells to investor after year of secrecy
The mystery buyer behind one of San Francisco’s most secretive real estate deals has finally been identified, nearly a year after an off-market sale transferred a $45 million mansion on Billionaires Row. Private equity investor Chuck Esserman bought the 10,742-square-foot Pacific Heights home formerly owned by Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison, according to the San Francisco Standard. The off-market deal closed in December 2025 under a trust tied to Esserman, ending months of speculation among local luxury real estate brokers about who had bought the property. Esserman is the co-founder and CEO of San Francisco-based private equity firm TSG Consumer Partners. He bought the estate without a public listing. The purchase adds to a string of expensive real estate deals linked to Esserman.
