42 students receive ₹6.27 lakh education assistance in Coimbatore

The Coimbatore district administration has distributed over ₹6 lakh in educational assistance to 42 economically disadvantaged students. This initiative aims to support higher education enrollment, which has reached 99% for government school graduates in the region.

The Coimbatore district administration on Monday distributed educational assistance of ₹6,26,915 to 42 students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds to help them pursue higher education.
The assistance was distributed by Collector Pavankumar G. Giriyappanavar at the Collectorate in the presence of representatives of the GD Naidu Trust and Chief Makers NGO, which supported the initiative.
The district administration said 10,310 of the 10,408 students who passed from government schools had enrolled in higher education, registering an enrolment rate of 99%. Of the 945 students who appeared for the supplementary examinations, 815 (86%) had joined higher education, placing Coimbatore second in the State in this category.
