41 teachers get State-level best teacher awards
The Department of School Education and Literacy has announced the 2026-27 State-level best teacher awards for 41 educators across various government institutions. The awards, which include special recognition for women teachers, will be presented by Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar.

As many as 41 government primary, high school and PU college teachers, lecturers and principals have been honoured with best teacher awards for the year 2026-27.
The Department of School Education and Literacy (DSEL) announced the list of awardees on Friday (September 4). Women teachers will be awarded in the name of Savitribai Phule.
The department has also announced the Malenada Gandhi HG Govinde Gowda Best School Awards for 2026. In the higher primary category, the Government Model Higher Primary School (MLA School), Haliyal, under Sirsi educational district, secured the honour. In the high school category, the Government High School, Karikatti, Savadatti Taluk, Belagavi district, has been selected for the State award.
