The Thiruvananthapuram International Airport has recorded a 41% growth in domestic cargo handling during the first five months of FY 2026–27, compared to the corresponding period of previous fiscal. Currently, the domestic cargo division handles an average of 350 metric tonnes of cargo per month.

The airport handles a wide variety of outbound cargo, including flowers, chilled fish, ornamental fish, medical kits, courier consignments, post office mail and rubber stems. Rubber stems are transported from Kerala to various northeastern States, supporting the movement of plantation-related products across the country. Ornamental fish are transported to destinations including Delhi, Agra and Jammu.

On the inbound side, major commodities include medicines, vaccines, medical equipment, mobile phones, meat products, courier consignments, automobile parts, post office mail, lenses, and other essential commodities. The air cargo network enables the quick and reliable movement of time-sensitive products, particularly supporting healthcare, agriculture and fisheries.
