BENGALURU: A kitchen at Chairman’s Club in Sahakaranagar’s Dollars Colony was closed and seized after food safety officials found major hygiene and safety violations during a special inspection, the Karnataka Department of Food Safety and Drug Administration said on Friday.The inspection was conducted on September 3 by the department’s Food Safety Wing under the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, and related licensing and registration rules, following directions from Health and Family Welfare Minister U T Khader.Officials found and seized 40kg of expired chilli stored for use as a food product, the department said.The inspection also revealed improper labelling on 5kg of bread crumbs and 2kg of Sajeera food products, which did not comply with FSSAI regulations.Officials further found highly unhygienic conditions in food preparation and storage areas, alleged use or storage of unauthorised or prohibited artificial colours, and lapses in the handling and…
