40 cases booked in joint drive against banned tobacco products in Coimbatore

The Coimbatore City Police and District police, in coordination with the Food Safety Department, registered 40 cases and arrested 40 people during a joint drive against the sale of banned tobacco products on October 9.
According to a press release issued by the Coimbatore City Police on Saturday, the teams conducted inspections at 213 locations and seized 53.536 kg of banned tobacco products.
The authorities have recommended that 40 shops found violating the rules be sealed.
