4 yrs, 2 building collapses in same South Delhi lane - the warning nobody acted on

Four years apart, meters apart — two building collapses in the same south Delhi neighbourhood, both linked to construction or renovation work and both raising the same uncomfortable question: What happens when warnings are issued but enforcement does not follow?On April 25, 2022, a three-storey building in Satya Niketan collapsed during renovation work, killing two labourers and injuring four others. The structure had already been declared dangerous by the municipal corporation on March 31. Police had also been asked to stop the work.Yet, before the civic action could be completed, the building came crashing down.Four years later, on September 6, 2026, another building collapsed in the same south Delhi neighbourhood. This time, the five-storey structure housed a student paying guest accommodation.
