4 reasons Super Eagles must beat Guinea-Bissau in AFCON 2027 qualifier

Layer 1 The Super Eagles will face Guinea-Bissau in their second Group L fixture of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON qualifiers on Tuesday, with the encounter carrying significant importance for Nigeria’s hopes of reaching the tournament.
Nigeria opened their campaign with a 2-1 comeback victory over Madagascar in Uyo, while Guinea-Bissau defeated Tanzania 2-0 to move top of the group on goal difference.
With both teams on three points, the meeting provides Nigeria with an opportunity to move ahead of one of their main rivals.
Here are four reasons why victory could be particularly important for the Super Eagles.
1. Only one qualification spot is available
Group L presents a different qualification scenario because Tanzania are among the hosts of the 2027 AFCON alongside Kenya and Uganda and therefore have an automatic place at the tournament.
