38,470 people use Coimbatore Corporation’s Knowledge Centre this year
The Coimbatore Corporation’s Knowledge Centre has served nearly 40,000 visitors this year, providing access to books, study spaces, and digital resources. The facility also supports local youth through competitive exam coaching and skill-development programs.

As many as 38,470 people used the Coimbatore Corporation’s Knowledge Centre on Addis Street between January and August this year.
Established at ₹2.50 crore on a 6,983 sq. ft site, the centre has 18,000 books, a children’s library, newspapers and periodicals, a competitive examination study room, two discussion rooms, and 15 computers. It can accommodate 100 people at a time.
The centre also conducts TNPSC coaching and skill-development programmes for unemployed youth and job seekers. Nineteen candidates who prepared at the centre have secured government jobs, while one beneficiary cleared JAM-2025 conducted by IIT-Delhi, the Corporation said.
