A 35-year-old man was arrested by the Mangadu police on Wednesday night for killing his wife during a quarrel at their house in Pattur.
The accused, B. Mujaideen, a butcher from Deen Nagar, Pattur, stabbed his wife M. Sofiya, 24, on the neck with a knife following an argument on Tuesday night, the police said.
The police said the couple frequently quarrelled, as Mujaideen allegedly suspected Sofiya of speaking with other men over the phone. On Tuesday night, the argument escalated, and Mujaideen attacked Sofiya with the knife before fleeing the house, the police said.
The Mangadu police went to the house and sent Sofiya’s body to the Government Stanley Hospital for a post-mortem.
