35 kg marijuana bound for Ongole seized near Rajahmundry

A 27-year-old bike taxi rider was nabbed while transporting 35 kg of marijuana worth ₹15.5 lakh from Odisha towards Ongole on the outskirts of Rajahmundry by the Telangana EAGLE Force.
The accused, Pacharla Kranthi Kumar, a resident of Ganesh Nagar in Rajahmundry, was intercepted while travelling on a two-wheeler following information about a marijuana consignment being moved from Odisha. The operation was carried out by the Khammam Regional Narcotics Control Cell of the EAGLE Force in Andhra Pradesh.
During preliminary questioning, Kumar told officials that he had collected the marijuana from a person in Odisha and was transporting it towards Ongole for delivery to another person. Investigators are verifying his statement and attempting to identify the source and intended recipient of the consignment. Apart from approximately 35 kg of marijuana, officials seized a scooter and two mobile phones.
