338 kg ganja seized on ECR in Thoothukudi; three arrested

Thoothukudi police seized 338 kg of ganja, allegedly smuggled from Andhra Pradesh, during a vehicle check on the East Coast Road (ECR) at Kulathur in Thoothukudi district in the late hours of Friday and arrested three persons.
According to police sources, a police team was conducting inspection on the ECR when a car and a mini fish truck approached the area in a suspicious manner. The police intercepted and searched both vehicles. During the search police found ganja bundles concealed among fish crates. The seized 169 bundles, each weighing around 2 kg, containing a total of 338 kg.
The three persons travelling the car and the mini truck were identified as Joshua Gnanaraj, 47 of Alamathi in Tiruvallur district, Dhanavel, 51 of Kakinada in Andhra and Yadala Srinivas Kalyan, 24 of Prakasam district in Andhra Pradesh.
