The Oothumalai police have arrested three persons and seized over 1,500 liquor bottles from them on Thursday evening.
Police said the Ooththumalai police conducted surprise check at Venkateswarapuram on Thursday evening following information about smuggling of liquor bottles for illegal sale. During the raid, the police found T. Chellakani, 58, of Muniyammalkulam, G. Mariappan, 48, of Maanur Therukupatti and S. Balasubramanian, 56, of Moovirunthali illegally selling liquor bottles to their customers.
After arresting them, the police seized 1,510 liquor bottles, worth ₹2.10 lakh and ₹2,300 in cash from them.
