CHENNAI: A 28-year-old man was killed after a car belonging to Tamil Nadu Social Welfare Minister Jagadeeswari hit his two-wheeler on the Trichy-Chennai National Highway near Kattankulathur around 12.30am on Monday. Police arrested the car driver and registered a case of rash and negligent driving.Iraiyanbu, a resident of Kattankulathur in Chengalpattu district, was returning home on a Honda Dio after attending a temple festival. Police said he was crossing the highway near Kattankulathur junction when the Maruti Ertiga hit his two-wheeler. He was thrown off the vehicle and died at the spot.The car was registered in the minister’s name. Jagadeeswari, who was travelling from Virudhunagar to Chennai in her official vehicle to attend the Assembly session on Monday, was travelling ahead of the Ertiga.
