25-year-old theft accused found dead near temple in Tiruvallur

A 25-year-old theft accused, Saravanan of Tiruninravur, was found dead in an agricultural field behind Bala Muneeswarar Temple at Aranvoyal near Tiruvallur on Monday.
A farmer alerted the Sevapettai police after spotting the body in the field behind the temple. The police recovered the body and found no visible injuries. They also seized 50 grams of ganja from his trouser pocket and a one-foot-long iron rod lying near the body.
The body was sent to the Tiruvallur Government Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examination.
The police said Saravanan was a known offender and had eight theft cases pending against him at police stations, including Tiruninravur, Avadi Tank Factory, Sevapettai, and Poonamallee.
