24 injured after government bus overturns near Tenkasi

A government bus carrying 32 passengers plunged into a riverbed near Tenkasi on Sunday.
Police said the bus that departed from Tenkasi new bus stand for Tirunelveli reportedly lost control and overturned while negotiating a curve near Aluthakanni river bridge at Vettaikarankulam under Courtallam police station lmits on Tenkasi-Tirunelveli highway. Upon receiving information. police and Fire and Rescue Services personnel arrived at the spot and rescued the passengers.
According to the police, all passengers were rescued. Twenty-four passengers who sustained injuries were taken to Tenkasi government hospital for treatment. The driver of the bus was admitted to Tirunelveli Government Medical College Hospital.
