235 kg of ganja seized in Perambalur; three arrested

Perambalur police seized 235 kg of ganja from two vehicles and arrested three individuals involved in the transport of the contraband. Three other suspects managed to escape, and an investigation under the NDPS Act is currently underway.

The Perambalur Police seized 235 kg of ganja from two cars near Thaneerpanthal on Monday and arrested three persons on charges of possessing the contraband for sale.
Based on a tip-off, the police intercepted two cars and found six persons in possession of the ganja. The three persons, H. Arun Kumar, 31, from Chennai, G. Vignesh, 27, and S. Pradeep, 23, from Tiruvallur district, were arrested, and the police seized the contraband, two cars and three mobile phones.
According to the police, the other three accused, Dheena alias Dinakaran and K. Devaraj, 37, from Chennai and E. Nanthamil Selvan, 23, from Perambalur, fled the scene.
