Ahead of the event, the police had issued an advisory urging visitors to adhere to traffic regulations, avoid rash and dangerous driving, and ensure that their movement did not inconvenience the public. However, according to the police, a section of motorists violated the norms by riding recklessly and at high speeds, causing inconvenience to other road users.
