Layer 1 Segun Sowunmi and Atiku Abubakar.
Segun Sowunmi, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, has accused former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of being disconnected from the struggles of ordinary Nigerians, saying he suffers from what he described as an “Emir complex”.
Sowunmi made the remarks during an interview on Vanguard’s Politics Hub , while assessing President Bola Tinubu’s chances of re-election in 2027 and responding to opposition leaders who argue that the contest will be between the ruling APC and Nigerians, regardless of the number of governors backing the president.
The APC chieftain questioned the credibility of opposition figures, including Atiku and former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, to speak for Nigerians grappling with poverty, given their long years in public office.
