2026 Chevron City to Surf: Countdown on to help raise funds for West Aussies living with disability

The annual Chevron City to Surf fun run is returning on August 30 to raise funds for West Australians living with disabilities. The event, which features 4km and 12km courses, expects a high turnout and includes participation from local media personalities.
Why it matters
The event serves as a significant community-driven fundraising effort for disability services and accessibility programs in Western Australia.
There’s still time to join this year’s Chevron City to Surf fun run to help raise funds for West Australians living with disabilities. Almost 29,000 people — the highest number in a decade — turned out last year to raise more than $500,000 for genU, which will provide equipment and programs that improve accessibility and participation for people living with disabilities. It is hoped even more participants this year will either walk, run, or roll in the 4km or 12km event on August 30, with both finishing up at the City Beach Oval. The 7NEWS crew — including Ryan Daniels, Samantha Jolly, Angela Tsun, and Amelia Broun — will be among those lacing up their runners for the community celebration. Jolly said she had lost count of the amount of times she had participated but she was looking forward to another year of walking for a good cause.
