NEW DELHI: A 20-year-old student home from US was killed when the car he was driving overturned and plunged into an open drain in south Delhi's Vasant Kunj early Friday.A young woman travelling with him escaped from the vehicle and survived.The victim was identified as Yashvendra, who recently returned to India and was staying with a friend in Delhi Cantonment area. His father is an Army officer posted in Kolkata.The accident took place around 6am near the Nangal Dewat drain. Police teams pulled the vehicle out of the drain and dragged out Yashvendra. He was taken to a hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.Police said because of rain the road where the car crashed was slushy.
