1MDB seeks leave of Federal Court to reinstate White & Case suit

PUTRAJAYA: The Federal Court will hear next month 1MDB’s application for leave to appeal a ruling that the High Court lacks the jurisdiction to preside over its US$1.83 billion lawsuit against UK law firm White & Case LLP involving PetroSaudi International Ltd.

Lawyer Lim Zhi Ying, a member of 1MDB’s legal team, said the Oct 12 hearing date was fixed during case management earlier this month.

"Parties have been instructed to file their written submissions and bundle of authorities by next Monday (Sept 28)," she told FMT.

Lim said 1MDB raised 24 questions of law on jurisdiction and the consolidation of its suit, in seeking leave from the apex court to pursue its appeal.
