PRAYAGRAJ: A 17-year-old boy has been detained for allegedly murdering his 20-year-old wife and, with the help of his father, dumping her body near an underpass on the National Highway in Fatehpur district on June 12. Police said the father allegedly transported the body on a motorcycle and is currently absconding.The woman's father, S S Pandey, a resident of Ubhari village in Prayagraj's Ghurpur area, lodged a complaint at Bara police station after the family failed to contact his daughter for two days. Married on February 20, 2025, she had been unreachable since June 11. When Pandey visited her in-laws' house, they allegedly concealed her murder and claimed she had gone missing.After an unidentified woman's body was recovered in Khaga, Fatehpur police launched efforts to establish her identity. During questioning on Thursday, the minor allegedly confessed to strangling his wife on June 11, claiming he killed her because she repeatedly taunted him and called him "useless".
