The Tri-City AI Hackathon 2026 concluded at Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science (KITS), Warangal, on Sunday, with 15 teams emerging winners in a competition that attracted around 1,500 students from nearly 150 colleges.

The two-day hackathon saw participation from approximately 500 teams, including school students. Of the 15 winning teams, eight were from KITS Warangal.

KITS Principal K. Ashoka Reddy presented certificates and cash prizes to the winners from a total prize pool of ₹50,000. The winning teams will also have opportunities to pursue internships, subject to further interviews and selection processes.

The inclusion of a separate school category underscored the initiative’s focus on encouraging innovation and problem-solving skills among students at an early age. A team from The Hyderabad Public School was among the winners.
