Fifteen passengers of a government bus sustained injuries after the vehicle fell into a road-side ditch near Ammapettai four road in the district in the early hours on Sunday.
The bus carrying 50 passengers was on its way to Tiruchi from Velankanni when the accident occurred at around 4.30 a.m.
Police said eight among the injured were treated as outpatients and the rest admitted as in-patients at the Thanjavur Medical College and Hospital. The Ammapettai police are investigating, said police sources.
