15 hawker centres to close for cleaning first week of October
Fifteen hawker centres in Singapore are scheduled for temporary closure between late September and early October for routine cleaning. Additional maintenance and redecoration works are also planned for several other locations.

A total of 15 hawker centres across Singapore will close for one to five days from Sept 28 to Oct 4 for cleaning.
According to the National Environmental Agency, such cleaning is conducted regularly so that Singaporeans can enjoy affordable food in a clean and hygienic environment.
The hawker centres undergoing cleaning include Chomp Chomp Food Centre, ABC Brickworks Market and Food Centre, and 51 Old Airport Road Food Centre and Shopping Mall, among others.
