Fourteen persons, including nine from Vuyyuru and five from nearby villages of Krishna district, have fallen ill with diarrheal symptoms in the past three days.

According to information from the office of the District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO), four persons have recovered, the remaining are under treatment in government hospitals. All are stable.

DMHO P.L. Dayakar said the first case was reported on August 19, and that all the persons have complained of only diarrhoea. “No one has reported fever or chills or any other symptoms. Two of them were dehydrated and treatment was given to them immediately,” he said. There were no new cases on Saturday (August 22, 2026).
