14 injured after APSRTC bus overturns in Prakasam district

Fourteen persons were injured after an APSRTC bus overturned into a roadside ditch near Madduluru village in Santhanutalapadu mandal of Prakasam district on Saturday morning. No fatalities were reported and none of the injured sustained life-threatening injuries.
According to the police, the APSRTC bus (AP 39 TF 1589), travelling from Kondapi to Ongole, lost control and overturned into a roadside ditch while giving way to an oncoming bus at about 8.45 a.m.
The bus was carrying around 70 passengers, of whom 14 suffered injuries. Cheemakurthi Circle Inspector, Santhanutalapadu Sub-Inspector, police personnel and local residents rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to the Government Hospital at Kondapi in 108 ambulances. Some of the injured were later referred to the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) Hospital, Ongole, for further treatment.
